Every lunch has a place.
An independent map of the restaurants in a private archive of Lunch with the FT. It connects a place to its guests, their orders and the original journalism.
Dates refer to article publication. Restaurant names and locations reflect the time of the lunch; a pin does not mean a restaurant is still open.
Pins use venue or building coordinates, not surveyed entrances. Unplaced includes unfinished location research, unnamed venues, private meals and archive roundups. Each entry identifies its category. Shared dishes and items not assigned to an individual appear under “At the table”. A bill is never treated as proof of an individual order.
Recorded bills and item prices use their original currencies. Quoted unit prices are labelled; shared dishes and set menus are kept together. Partial bills, estimates and complimentary meals are labelled.
